Whatever you do just make the app start splash screen suitable for eyes in dark mode. Last version had a white spalsh screen with blue logo it made my eyes bleed during night.
And adding an option to hide the top status bar of ipad that shows battery and stuff would be great as well.
The pencil tools also needed a lot of upgrade with features, gestures and standards that are adopted by likes of Noteful ipad app. Example, two finger tap to undo and three finger tap to redo.
